Amazing discovery while working out today* |
|
*- yes- I'm actually working out these days.
Anyway, Cathyclysmic and I made another last ditch attempt at quitting smoking this past Sunday. For the past few weeks we have both been trying to get into shape, so we go to the Y and use the treadmills and weight machines. Anyway, when I was smoking, I'd usually hit my target heart rate about 2 minutes into the workout- pretty sad. Today, after just one day smoke-free, it took me a full seven minutes to reach target. My speed didn't change, in fact I was going faster than usual. Cathy noticed the exact same thing with her heart rate.
That's irrefutable evidence kids- within 24 hours of quitting smoking, your body starts adjusting to normal levels.

After 90 seconds, I thought I was going to die, or worse. :)

6. Kick this as often as you like |
|
You may end up convincing someone, and that would be a good thing.
Congrats on the smoking cessation, and on the work outs. Please be sure to log your workouts in to the "Exercise and Fitness" (or is it "Fitness and Exercise") forum. I know that posting there daily keeps me motivated.
Isn't it great to add health and fitness in your life? Honestly, I'm a whole new woman from last year.
