3. It's not so bad

I walked through there a lot. Kind of warehousy, kind of populated, kind of has some stores, and a few trendy restaurants, and an Irish Pub and a little movie theater (if it's still there).

on edit: at first I had "it's so bad", so if you saw that, please disregard. Forgot the "not"! SORRY!

4. That is right in the heart of Chinatown
Canal is the big drag through Chinatown.

Those little side streets in Chinatown are usually kind of narrow and a little gamy. (Lots of fish markets/run-off through Chinatown).

Not sure how much more detail I can give you...I usually only go to that area if I'm going someplace specific. (Dim-sum or something.)

5. It's not bad.
I used to live further west on N. Moore St. The west part of the map is the area called Tribeca---lots of trendy restaurants, boutiques, art galleries and lofts. The east part is getting near Chinatown. Canal Street is the informal boundary between Chinatown and Little Italy. Between Tribeca and Chinatown is mostly warehouses and small businesses. Lots of subways converge in the area so getting around Manhattan is relatively easy. Do you plan living or working in the area?

7. Go
and have fun, the area is safe. Have dinner in Chinatown and go to Little Italy for dessert. Wish I was still there. What's the exhibit?

8. Negativland
Although the concert we're going to in the evening is up near Times Square, so we were thinking about a restaurant we like up there. I shall take your suggestion into consideration, though. :)
