The geniuses implemented a system and after implementation they found out that they did not have enough server power to handle everyone being on the system. Now they have found bugs too.
"Everything worked well the first day."
Yeah, the first day was Sunday. :grr:
I have never seen such incompetence.
Ever.
And that is saying a lot.
on edit: by IT guys, I mean it goes all the way to the top, not just the "grunt IT'ers"

2. I see the finger pointing starting already. |

The one overseeing the change? "Out sick and unable to receive emails" on the first day of full implementation.

7. But are the bugs your IT guys fuck up |
|
or was it software someone else wrote, a third party decided was going to be implemented, and IT was left with a "do it by this ridiculously soon date and do it with the computers you already have"? It makes a difference.
:P

8. Nope. the bug was documented by the 3rd party beforehand, |
|
and the IT guys (I mean the HEAD IT guys of the whole company) sent it all through - and without sufficient resources to let enough users in.

I don't rememeber reading about a single project where the initial hardware base was able to handle the actual load.
The trick seems to be that the software has to be designed in a way to scale well, once the management finally agrees to extending the hardware (saying "Told you so" is strictly forbidden).
