1. I'm so looking forward to this
Unfortunately I'm a gazillion miles away from a cinema that'll show it so I'm going to have to wait for it to come out on DVD. I loved Akira and Fist of the North Star when I was growing up but tuned out anime totally until I saw Spirited Away and was blown away.

3. Miyazaki's a good layer or two above the average anime director

And above most other animators to boot. Most other anime isn't anywhere near as good.

Do not delay. It's weird and beautiful...

I still have arguments with a pal about whether Spirited Away or Totoro is better and now I tell her forget it, Moving Castle eclipses both. Also I have realised that I have a long-standing friend who has never seen ANY Miyazaki (I thought he'd seen all of them, I just had him pigeonholed as that type) so soon I will be sitting him down with a DVD player and a LOT of popcorn!

2. My kids LOVED this movie! Incredible animation.
"Spirited Away" and "Totoro" (sp?) are also really good. The guy's amazing. His name escapes me, but he's amazing.

6. where are you that you saw it? My daughter and I went to see
it here in FtWorth early this summer.

It is awesome!!!!!!!! We have all of his movies on DVD except one and we have it on VHS.

I prowled the internets looking for a release date for DVD of Howl's; no luck yet.

I was hoping to see another general wide release before Christmas.

If it is nominated for Best Animated, it will make the rounds again around Oscar time

7. Ah, I'm in the UK

Where it has recently been released. Saw the advance screening and last night as well...

Soemtimes I wonder how it is he manages to hit the spot so consistently and everyone else makes such a big mess of film-making...
