1. emule
E mule is a really good file sharing program but there is not much for mp3's if that is what you are looking for.

For mp3's Limewire is alright.

I use a Mac so there is probably something else for Pc that is better then that

3. How can they shut down?
It's a peer-to-peer network. Did every user of WinMX suddenly stop using it?

4. Here's a link to the story.
But last Wednesday already it wasn't working.

The RIAA's latest attempt at curbing illegal peer-to-peer downloads appears to be working. On September 15, the group sent out cease and desist letters to seven undisclosed P2P networks. As of Thursday, it had appeared that at least two of them have now closed their doors.

5. that all depends
If you want to stick with OpenNap then a good replacement for WinMx would be XNap. The last time I knew it still worked fine, and you could import server lists to use with it. http://xnap.sourceforge.net/

If you're looking for movies Ares is about the best you can get. http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/

LimeWire is good for music and some hard to find movies, but has little or no software/games.

eMule is loaded with nasty organizations that would love to connect to your computer.
