Any idea how to eradicate the smell of cheap perfume? |
|
A neighbor girl dropped her backpack in front of my house last week and apparently broke a bottle of perfume. The smell will not go away. It's definitely an eau du stink.
I can smell it from my office and porches, and with the heater on, it's coming in the house.
I've scrubbed the sidewalk, but the smell lingers on.
Any idea how to get rid of it?

You could also try soaking a cloth in white vinegar and waving it around (I know it sounds silly but it works for cigarette smoke)-and even if it doesn't work you'll have gotten a little exercise.

2. Fabreeze and Ozium are pretty good. |
|
I got a gasoline spill smell out of my car with Fabreeze, and Ozium works well. Spray the Fabreeze where the perfume smelled, spray the Ozium in the house where the smell is coming in.
Other than that, I don't know. Maybe dump baking soda and vinegar on the spot?

3. put hydrogen peroxide and baking soda on the spot it broke on? |
|
That seems to be the word on the internets for killing crappy perfume smell.
Also sprinkling cinnamon on the spot was mentioned. After using the HP and BS.

6. Oh, man, I wish she would. |
|
If it's who I think it is ( and she's a sweetheart, but she's definitely got a knack for attracting the scum of the high school) maybe I'll buy her a bottle of Chanel No. 5 for the holidays.
Thanks for the laugh!!

11. Maybe pour white vinegar on the spot? |
|
It absorbs cigarette smoke, so it might work.
