that way I don't have to work till 5 or 6 pm to get my hours but can leave between 4 and 5pm. And I have a quiet hour in the morning before my co-worker and boss comes in.

We went to a craft fair, a festival, hung out in Boston for a day, and went to numerous bookstores. Setting me loose in a bookstore with money is like leaving a hungry dog in a butcher shop. I ended up with 12 books which put my luggage 10lbs overweight so I had to pay a surcharge. In addition to the the rally/march in DC I also went to the Green Festival. I ended up buying 7 books there. I have tons of reading to do--yay! I have to go back to work later tonight though (Thursday) :-( .

32. we think alike
me and bookstores ..... it is a sin to leave without at least one book. Right now I try not to go into one since I have more than enough books at home to read. My brother is co-owner of a second hand bookstore and it is always expensive to go in there, even though he gives us the books even cheaper than they already are. Good thing he lives in Berlin and I only get there one ore two times a year.

38. I love bookstores!
The room I'm sitting in now is my cheapo version of a home library. I have three 3-level towers of those cheapo bookshelves, and two 2-level towers of the bookshelves, plus 2 other shelves in another part of the house. Hubby teases me that for every book I bring home I have to get rid of one. I tell him I'd rather run naked through downtown Seattle -- and believe me, you'd rather not see THAT!

So what do you like to read? Me, I like current political issue/people books, true crime, fictional crime, and Native American lore. Plus some comedy books, and some sports (especially baseball --I love baseball!)

fictional crime, fantasy (but only Terry Pratchett), Native American (fiction and non-fiction), biographies for example.

When you get in my apt, first thing you see in the hallway are my two big bookshelves. I don't have space for them in my living room, but there and in the bedroom are shelves also.

47. Ever read any Mary Summer Rain?
I love her series of books. Sent her a letter once, and got a response from her. She seems like a pretty cool person. In college, I did an independent study on the religious (for lack of a better word) aspect of the Native American culture. Have felt deeply tied to them since, and then ended up marrying a Chippewa. Life is interesting!

a book I really liked was Susan Power "The Grass dancer" and I read books about the history. In between I considered studying etymology. But in the end I became a librarian.

37. Is it the Japanese version?
I love that show! Probably couldn't eat most of what the prepare (I'm such a picky eater, but hubby has taught me to like lots of things I used to hate, 'cause he's a fabulous cook), but for purely entertainment value, Iron Chef is great! By comparison, Iron Chef America is dull!

41. With the Japanese version
I can't understand a damned thing they say, but the MC is so damned funny! He talks a mile a minute in Japanese, and that combined with the video, well -- no interpretation needed. Perhaps the American host can take a cue -- not with the language, but with the enthusiasm he brings to the show.

My fav show on Food Network is the one with Paula Deen. She totally cracks me up, mostly because I spent a lot of time in the south, and knew a lot of "Paula's" there.

Ever see "Ran"? Man, that was one intense movie -- beautiful and horrifying at the same time. Seems they bring much of the same intensity to other things, though of course, "Ran" didn't make me laugh like "Iron Chef". ;-}

It's a beautiful sunny, cool autumnal morning. :D

Have you got any plans for the week-end?
