Holy CRAP! Anyone watching Montel?
This woman must have taken Bextra. I've heard it had nasty side effects. One of which is Stevens Johnson Syndrome.

Do a google search for it and see what you get.

This poor woman developed an allergic reaction to the drug, and developed horrible blisters all over her body. 90% of her skin was practically burned off, she lost an eye....makes me never want to take another drug EVER!

Thanks FDA! You fucking whores!

1. So this is how you're celebrating your new jobless state?
Stay away from daytime TV! It will dissolve your gray matter.
:hi:

6. Well, don't judge me too harshly, Gorm.
I need white noise to function (too many years in the record store biz). When it's too quiet I start climbing the walls!

I'm also working on my family history as I watch, which requires mental calisthenics, entering info from the Family Tree program, and writing lovely narrative.

I definitely want to keep from the Brain Jell-O thing. :D

15. OK, I'm curious...
What record store did you work at?

You might have told me once before, but I can't remember at the moment.

21. Ah,l see. A multitasker
Family history and Maury would be a good combo, since that show is mostly paternity tests these days.
;-)

hey FSC, I'm another tree climber. There are a few broken branches and a lot of twisted roots on my family tree. Isn't it fascinating to find the little connections, like noting that your greatgrandmother's family was enumerated in census only a few households away from your greatgrandfather's family, or that they were distant cousins?

25. Yep, I'm having a blast.
And now have lots of free time to get more research done!

This half of my family all lived in the same few areas in southeastern Wisconsin, so I find a LOT of that.

At one point in the 1920 census in Beloit, my great grandfather was living with my great aunt and her children (my great grandma had died in 1918). Down the street was my grandpa and his family, and then a few more houses over was my grandpa's cousin and his family.

All in the 2100 block of Fayette Avenue. When I was there in June, I was all excited, so I drove by to get some pictures.

The 2100 block is now gone, the entire thing replaced by a factory.

11. I think that is the only Maury show I ever caught.
I think I was home sick or something. The show did NOTHING to make me feel better. It was absolutely horrifying!!!

27. Those are the worst shows. Not that anything that worn football face does
is actually good anyway, but those giant baby episodes are horrible.

are the rest of his shows...:eyes:

I had a bad reaction to a drug once...flippin' pharmacist said it might be my laundry detergent. I called another one, who told me to stop taking it immediately. I had a rash all over my body.

5. Well, I would be too.
His MS is a little further along than mine, so can't say I blame him at all! Probably helps with the discomfort.

7. Sorry...
Hope you hadn't just eaten!

Just from an allergic reaction to a drug! It's unbelievable! Evidently, you body decides to try to purge the stuff out of your system, but it tries to do it through your SKIN!

9. Stevens Johnson syndrome can be fatal.
It's a black box warning on a highly prescribed anti-psychotic used for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

90% of her skin peeling off, and then it began to attack each of her organs, one after another-- liver, stomach wall, eyes, etc.

This looked positively awful.

18. I've taken it, it's an arthritis pain killer also used for menstrual cramp
However, I've taken like 3-4 in my lifetime. I was actually taking Vioxx for bad cramps (maybe 4-5 a year) but when I moved to Delaware my new doctor switched me over to Bextra saying that Vioxx was unsafe.

22. Heh... Vioxx unsafe, so move to Bextra.
Damn.

My husband took Vioxx and he said it made him feel funny. Scary thinking of the things that can happen... all those side effects we read about but rarely experience ourselves... :o
