4. That's yet to be determined
IF they end up with the best record in the league, they will play the wildcard, unless the wildcard team is Cleveland, then they will play the division winner with the worst record who is likely to be the Angels.

8. Normally, that would be true

Even if the Indians run that table, including sweeping 3 from the Sox, they end up tied. In the event of a tie that determines that one team is out of the playoffs there is an extra playoff game between the teams. HOWEVER, if the Indians do run the table either they or the Sox would be the wild card. Since both go to the playoffs anyway they dispense with the extra playoff game and the winner of the season series wins the title, the Sox lead that 11-5.

Believe me, they popped the champaign in Comerica Park today.

edited to add: I know it's convoluted but this explains it better:

Chicago's victory reduced its magic number to one, clinching a tie for the American League Central title. But even if the Indians were to sweep the three-game set at Jacobs Field this weekend, thus clinching a playoff berth, the White Sox would win the tiebreaker for the AL Central crown with an 11-8 edge in head-to-head play.

The reason the White Sox and Indians wouldn't play a one-game playoff is because, with the Red Sox and Yankees playing each other this weekend, one team would be guaranteed to finish out of the playoffs if the Indians swept the White Sox. And in instances in which two teams from the same division are guaranteed to make the playoffs, MLB does not use a one-game playoff, instead relying on head-to-head records to break the tie.
