10. Denim Day is not what I thought it was. |

I guess Denim Day is a concept that's been used for many different things.
Looks like this October Denim Day is for Breast Cancer awareness. I actually am a fundraising executive for a breast cancer non-profit, so I can get behind that.
But the first time I was exposed to Denim Day was in college. It was to show support for LGBT rights. The idea was that if you were a college student, you'd have to go pretty far out of your way not to wear denim--so who was going to show themselves to be that much of a bigot? It helped to illuminate how much prejudice was still out there.
Anyone have any other experiences with Denim Day?
