Just completed a studio production course! Ask me anything! |
|
I passed! I passed! I'm now qualified to:
Do a sound check and run a sound board
Set up cameras and mikes
Operate a atudio xamera and take direction
Direct the cameras and talent from the control room
Cue up titles and credits
I can produce and direct my own TV show if'n I wanna! :bounce: :bounce:
Live from the DU Lounge! :D

We did the CD about nine years ago on some of the first HD recording equipment available for Windows. Of course, it's downright primitive compared to what you can get now even at the consumer level.
We had 8 tracks of 16-bit digital audio. We thougth we were the shizzle at the time, though! :silly:

I've gotten comparisons to Michael Stipe quite a bit, which is funny because I'm not a big REM fan. I must have absorbed a lot of REM by osmosis, being a college boy in the late 80s, I guess.

5. I was in a class like that once. |

Then I got a kidney infection and had to miss the last two classes. :(
I've been thinking that I should go back.

This was a 12-hour class. 4 hours Monday, Tuesday and Tonight. It really was pretty easy once they explained it. I think I could get really good at camera work.

I've been really unhappy for a while. And...my employer wasn't too happy with me either, so...it's time for a change.
I've always loved the law. So this might be an interim step to law school...but at worst, I'll have a marketable skill.

you can't leave the bureaucracy?!?!?!
The legal route sounds like a plan. I've got a friend who's going into copyright/patent law next fall, with any luck. Just took the LSAT, currently "works" as a programmer (when he can find a gig) and has always been interested in free speach issues.
Best of luck to you! :toast:

Seriously though...I am pretty close to them telling me to take a hike anyway. So, it's time.
Thanks for the well-wishes.

It's something I've wanted to do for a long time. I don't know what I'm going to do with it now. But at least I have the skills set.
