Perhaps just get a second burner? They are down to about 39 bucks.

Still, I'd keep the DL's higher priced because of piracy concerns.
I use DLs but only to back up my laserdisc collection of movies that won't come out on DVD. (and keep the LDs, of course.)

I back it up daily to a phased drive array, and monthly to DVD-R media.

The daily backups are incremental, but the monthly optical media backups are complete.
I have been burned so many times by incremental backups that did not restore properly in the 27 years I have been doing this type of work that I will no longer willingly trust them.
