My Cat Ramona Died
Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 06:16 PM by corarose
The poor calico girl suffered as she was dying and my Sister would not take her to the vet and get her put down.

I just got home from class and she is gone. Her little mouth and eyes are open and its so sad.

I delivered this Cat when she was born and I am going to miss her so bad.

My Little Girl is in Heaven tonight with her Doggie Sister Lulu, her bird Tilly and her little Kitty Family and my Mom.

God Rest your soul you little baby girl. I loved you Ramona aka Samantha.

2. I am so sorry
I know what it is to lose dearly loved cats and dogs. It is never easy and even harder when you must make the decision to hasten their death. They are the most precious gifts we have, they are unconditionally loving and giving to us. If I can't meet my dear pets on the other side, I want to go where they are, or nowhere at all. I am so sad for you today.

3. I am so sorry.
I have a 17-year old cat that has been with me all my adult life and I can tell she is getting old and tired and cherish every moment I can spend with her. I'll miss her terribly when she is gone.

My deepest sympathy on your loss.

Losing a cat is one of the hardest times for a cat person. Every one I've ever had was like a person to me, a true friend who loves you unconditionally.

12. My thoughts are with you corarose
I know it's a very tough situation to deal with (and still sometimes is 5 years later for me). But overall, I hope you get to a point soon where you think more of all the fond memories of your Ramona. If you're interested, there's a site at http://petloss.com that I found very helpful to me when my Alexis passed away. My sincerest best wishes for everything you're facing Corarose!

16. I'm sorry for your loss, Corarose...
but I'm even sorrier that Ramona suffered so badly. You posted here on October 29th saying how sick she was and how she was in pain. Many encouraged you to get to a vet ASAP and end her suffering.

Sadly, she continued to suffer and died a horrible death. I'm sorry I can't be more sympathetic, but I think letting a very sick cat suffer for weeks is unconscionable.

19. Ramona, come closer
Shut softly your watery eyes
The pangs of your sadness
Will pass as your senses will rise
The flowers of the city
Though breathlike, get deathlike sometimes
And there's no use in tryin'
To deal with the dyin'
Though I cannot explain that in lines.
Your cracked country lips
I still wish to kiss
As to be by the strength of you skin
Your magnetic movements
Still capture the minutes I'm in
But it grieves my heart, love
To see you tryin' to be a part of
A world that just don't exist.
It's all just a dream, babe
A vacuum, a scheme, babe
That sucks you into feelin' like this.
I can see that your head
Has been twisted and fed
With worthless foam from the mouth
I can tell you are torn
Between stayin' and returnin'
Back to the South
You've been fooled into thinking
That the finishin' end is at hand
Yet there's no one to beat you
No one to defeat you
'Cept the thoughts of yourself feeling bad
I've heard you say many times
That you're better than no one
And no one is better than you
If you really believe that
You know you have
Nothing to win and nothing to lose
From fixtures and forces and friends
Your sorrow does stem
That hype you and type you
Making you feel
That you gotta be just like them.
I'd forever talk to you
But soon my words
They would turn into a meaningless ring
For deep in my heart
I know there is no help I can bring
Everything passes
Everything changes
Just do what you think you should do
And someday, maybe
Who knows, baby
I'll come and be cryin' to you.

So, so sorry corarose. Lots of .

Neil

23. finally...
...that poor animal is out of its misery. It's been months since you wrote that its eyes were "spinning in its head" and it had trouble walking. A "dirty" cat, you called it.

I'm sorry to be hard on you, too, but I hope you'll not get another animal until you're in a position to care for it.

Poor Ramona, RIP over the rainbow bridge.

25. I have two Boys that are well taken care of
Edited on Sat Nov-15-03 01:33 AM by corarose
Ramona Sam the cat was well taken care of and she had constant Vet Care.

Yes, she had one of the worse habits that a Cat could ever have. She marked her territory and yes it was annoying. When you see Cat Urine coming down the side of your wall it makes you sick and when you have tons of things ruined it makes you even sicker.

But, I didn't get rid of her and I loved her just the same.

What's a bit ODD is I only mentioned it to one person that she was having trouble walking and it wasn't you or maybe it was.

42. You Did
There was a popular series of cat pee threads for several days if you recall. It's not often you get Matcom to spray on Will Pitt's sister for any reason.

What's your secret?

I don't know the particulars, like her diagnosis or your relationship with your vet, but I can identify and cry with you. Despite all I did and the help of a remarkable vet, I lost my perfect Rhiannon as I slept. She was on the pillow next to me. My friend said that she couldn't leave me while I was awake because she wanted to remain there for my sake. Perhaps this was also true for your Ramona. I am so sorry for your loss and the pain you are feeling.;(

28. Thanks so much
I had a class earlier today and when I left to class she was alive and our class let out early. As I was coming up to my building I got a feeling that she has passed and sure enough when I walked into the door she was gone and my Sister had her in her arms and she was dead.

I am sorry to hear about your little one. Sometimes they go in the night when you are asleep and I think that it the best way.

We both have lost our beautiful kids/cats and we both miss them terribly.

29. I can relate, lost mine of 17 years last week
It leaves a hole in your soul. I had to put mine down as he was suffering. It was the hardest and yet greatest thing I could have done for him.

Pets are sometimes more than just children, as they spend their entire lives with us we see them as children, adults and then wise elderly beings as well as friends. They give so much to us flawed humans; teach us, guide us and love us. What an honor that we are accepted by them.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Always remember that your cat knew you loved her too.

34. Losing a Friend Is Always Hard
Even when death means an end to suffering, it is still so hard to lose a friend. Death is not the end to love, though; and hers will always be with you.

I'm sorry for your loss. My little calico, also named Ramona, died last year. I know how you must feel, and I wish I knew something that would make the pain go faster.

46. Corarose, concentrate on the pets you have. That's what I am
trying to do. They mourn, as well, for the pets you have lost. I have adopted two dogs, over the past several years, because I sensed my remaining dog missed his/her companion. I now have two dogs and a cat, so I understand what you're going through. I wouldn't trade any of them for anything. Please try to hang in there. I know that you have been having a really tough time, lately. As a member of your DU family, I truly care.:grouphug:
