I am depressed and frustrated
1) I have a teeny tiny 5 person middle school cheerleading team. One of them is threatening to quit which would kill off them team because it takes all five of them to get up into any stunts.

2) The online writing group I belong to went kablooey again (as it does every few months or so) and now I find I am the owner of it. I don't want it to go under but I am very frustrated about trying to keep it running. And on top of that I haven't done much writing lately and feel depressed about that too.)

Meh. Thank for hearing me out. *sigh*

1. Sorry to hear of your upset feelings, GPV
Hang in there and remember: This, too, shall pass....

Also, try finding some ways to nuture yourself so that you feel more in Balance again. Take a walk, light a candle, listen to some music, dance, sing...

11. Thanks. :^) I did walk a bit today and that helped somewhat. As did
seeing two deer and a kitten. :D

2. completely not asked for but may i say
this could be a sign for you to lighten the load you take on that involves others behavior

if writing is giving to you and you havent been able to do that of late then i dont need to tell you that perhaps you should give some time to that

ok i just told you (sorry)
but really
so many people dont take time for themselves
instead they give and give and dont get what they need

i hope you can...

but if these activities matter to you because they feel good then by all means just be patient and i wish you the best during this time

10. Your advice would be perfect for most people but honestly
Edited on Mon Oct-03-05 09:08 PM by GreenPartyVoter
in my case I should be doing _more_. Not kidding. I don't have a job and soend my time messing around on the 'net instead of keeping the house clean. (If this was a business the place woulda been condemned by now.)

That's a whole 'nother depression thing. I need to get my stupid driver's license and a job already because financially we're not quite treading water.

So if you want to pray on anything for me, pray that I suddenly become brave and determined and just march into the DMV and tackle that written test and ace it. Then pray I get myself behind the wheel and stop thinking that I am sure to run someone over or smash myself into a tree. :(

18. oh gpv - thats a whole other situation entirely
of course i will include you in prayers

may i ask if you have any outlet - therapy or group etc - for your depression
i dont suffer that but know those who do and its not just something you get over (as of course you know)

of that other 40 I didn't need. *blah*

No, no counselor or therapy or anything. Just DU and church.

Thanks for the prayers. They are always most welcome.

not the muddling through part but that the church is supportive

its just from what you have said i wasnt sure

6. Thanks. :^) I hope so too. It's just that I want so much to be able
to really coach a team of kids who care about what they are doing and are willing to put some time and energy into their practices instead of screwing around. But we have such a tiny school there just isn't a large enough population to come up with that many dedicated kids who love the sport. So I am struggling to keep this program together for a few kids who love it and really go for it and a couple who could take it or leave it but without whom we could do nothing.

14. I feel that way about the team of adults I lead at work too-
there are the motivated ones, and the minimalists.

I've learned that either people are naturally "hungry" to succeed, or they aren't. Sure can't make'em!

Glad you care about kids......

15. :^) I enjoy the kids. When they aren't driving me nuts. *lol* Junior high
kids can be tough to be around when they go into manic over-drive or when the whining kicks in.

Still, I would rather have them than not. :)

Isn't that like banning thought?

29. No, we manage. The two topics don't often come up in a work-related
sense. Not a lot of romance novels cetnered around politics. And for those that are religious-related works we can deal with them as long as no one is shoving their religion down someon else's throat.

27. I hear you.
The middle school chess club I was working with last year has eager students, but no faculty sponsor.

One of the two community classes I teach as an adjunct professor has lost half of its original enrollment.

I haven't written anything except legal documents that exceed two pages in length in years.

as a meeting place, then I have to get bust and try to find another teacher to sponsor it.
