4. That's too bad. Breakfast of Champions came out great as a movie |
|
so I was thinking Hitchhiker's could work too!

5. I wasn't too thrilled by it |
|
I didn't read the book though. Maybe that had something to do with it.

7. I'd been looking forward to it since |

I saw the corny low-budget BBC version on TV. I have the DVD of the series, and I totally love it. Nice memories of watching it on PBS on Sunday nights with my dad and my husband-to-be, etc.
I've read in at least two Douglas Adams biographies that having the movie made was his lifelong dream. Well, at least he was spared seeing this movie by his untimely death.
It's not a BAD movie but it's certainly not a good one.

Sorry. I thought it had all the silliness and understatement of the book.

The Vogons don't look so bad these day. 3 pints of bitter and a bag of peanuts, please!
I read the books when they came out & enjoyed the radio and TV show. I didn't catch the movie. It looked a tad overproduced to me.

10. Mos Def was barely there (badly miscast or misdirected). Sam Rockwell blew |
|
Marvin the robot was a disappointment, too. Zooey Deschanel was just kind of there--I don't think the director undestood the characters. But Martin Freeman as Arthur Dent kind of saved the movie from being a total waste of nine bucks.
