Is the DU confessional open?

I have a crush on the postman. Everyday I anticipate his arrival and I make a point to exchange a few words.

It wasn't intentional. He's just always so polite... not to mention that he has an excellent smile and gentle, but strong hands. I think it started the day he helped me load some stuff into the car. I even like the way he says my name and admonishes my bills before giving them to me. And, yes, I've even noticed that he has a great tush.

Reality check: I'm already married to a good man. I do not need to be walking around with unclean thoughts of the postman making a extra-special delivery.

Now, having purged my guilt at the DU confessional, I'm going to call a sitter and take Mr. CornField out on a date.

3. Societal expectations vs Biological drives

We live in a complex social system. Over the millenia we have developed a very stable workable system of moral expectations. By no means are these written in stone but they are functional. Meanwhile our drives and basic desires operate unguided by anything other than our natural wiring. It is our learned social behaviours that keep them in check. It doesn't mean they are not there.

It is natural for humans to be attracted to other humans. Kinda is necissary for the propogation thing. So to can we be attracted to others due to emotional or social connections. It is unreasonable to expect the one person we decided to share our lives with to be able to be all things. Sometimes there are desires in our subconscious that we are not aware of and this leads to interest in others beyond those that we have chosen to spend our life with.

Just remember this. Such infatuation is merely the mind expressing desires that are unfullfilled. These are in truth minor compared to the desires that are fullfilled by a committed relationship. There is so much more to such a relationship that it would be a shame to throw it all away to satisfy such an urge. But do not turn away from those urges. Examine them and see if you can figure out what is causing them. If possible you may be able to find a way to satisfy them with the one you love.
