Lyon is having trouble with people not complying with the pooper-scooper law and dropped 10,000 plastic dog truds to raise the public awareness.

most European cities are littered with real dog poo.

One might say: local politicans have to be pro-poo to win elections. Very few cities act, and those which do get demonstrations.

It's hard even to find a pooper-scooper.

2. In Paris

they have superdooper pooperscooper motorcycles.
Where I used to live, in Levallois (just across the street from Paris), it was the French Dog Capital, really great! Dog parks, dogs can go with you to the local watering hole, and all. People and their dogs were much more civilized. Here, too many dogs are chained or are left in the backyard and neglected, sad.
Besides, avoiding dog pooh keeps you nibble.
And superdooper pooperscoopers provide jobs!
They did sell poop sacks at the Tabac (a cafe allowed to sell tabacco).
(Lyon is rather rightwing. Nuielly sur Seine (superrich), next to Lavallois (worker and middle-claas), didn't have pooperscoopers and dodging turds in the tree-lined alleys was a sport.
