Question about National Guard and veterans |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-05-05 08:53 AM by zanne
I have a friend with two children in the Guard--one is in Iraq, one is in Kuwait. She tells me that, even though they're in Operation Iraqi Freedom (or whatever they're calling the war these days), because they're in the Guard, they still won't be considered veterans when their tour is over. She said they would have to re-enlist to get their two years' requirement to be considered veterans. Anybody outthere know about this stuff? (She has a son in Ramadi and she's constantly worried about getting a phone call).
