I have a bruised kidney....ask me anything! |
|
So yesterday I was carrying a lone coke bottle down the stairs at my house to put it in the recycling, and I totally slipped and fell down the stairs on my back. I went down about 6 stairs and I did that thing where you sit there for a minute like "Ok, how bad was that?" I decided nothing was broken, and I came into town to check e-mail and see how my beloved DU friends were doing.
I got in the car to go home, and suddenly I started feeling really nauseated. I haven't barfed since I was 10, and I was *really* sick then, so feeling barfy is cause for concern. Came home, alternated sleeping, drinking water, and barfing all night.
This morning I decided to go seek medical attention, so I went to the clinic, and they didn't have any openings until next week. So I went to urgent care.
My blood pressure, pee, blood, and bones were all looked at, and I have a bruised kidney.
For now it's ok, but the doctor says if I feel worse, to call 9-11 so the ambulance can take me to Fresno and they can run a CAT scan.
Joy.

3. Hey, at least you're ALIVE! |
|
Sorry to hear of your fall and I'm glad you got the medical attn. you deserved.
I can relate: I had a fall myself a couple months ago cycling. Hit my right temple against the curb turning a corner. Cracked my helmet. Concussion. CT scan...the works. It took a couple of weeks before I felt fully back in my body again.
The important thing is to take the time you need to heal.
Take care, Shine :hi:
