I have class all day tomorrow. I should be asleep now, but clearly I'm not.

Today is the first day of rifle deer season in most states.
Perhaps most DUers are sawing logs in order to hot the deer runs before the sun comes up. That's ok and all I want is a couple packs of backstraps.

8. Weekends are usually dead here at DU. |
|
Welcome, by the way. We're a loud and sometimes contentious bunch, but I think you'll be hard-pressed to find another board on the net like this one. Salon's TableTalk comes close, but ya gotta pay for it, and their format is inferior besides. I learned of DU at Salon, in fact- and look where I decided to stay.
I've stated this before, but once I get another stable income here, I'll be a regular donor. I just can't afford much extra at the moment, and every dollar spent is missed.
All that aside, DU thrives on news content from US as well as international media. As such, and with members spread all over the country, local news gets as much coverage as national news, and the locals are by and large a bit thin on the news themselves, at least on Saturday.
Sunday is a very different story. Sunday morning spin cycles are picked apart here, as I'm sure you've noticed. I've been here for a while, and this is a pattern I've noticed. From about eight or nine PM EST to around eight AM Sunday morning, there's usually a drop in activity.
Nuthin' to worry about. :)

11. You want poetry? Ok fine I have poetry in my head and here it comes... |
|
The clock struck midnight And through my sleeping I heard a tapping at my door I looked but nothing lay in the darkness And so I turned inside once more
To my amazement There stood a raven Whose shadow hung above my door Then through the darkness It spoke that one word that I shall hear forever more
Nevermore Thus quoth the raven, nevermore
And still the raven remains in my room No matter how much I implore No words can soothe him No prayer remove him And I must hear for evermore
Quoth the raven, nevermore Thus quoth the raven Nevermore
