I love this painting because I've lived that sort of life from time to time.

It was painted the year after Germany had occupied Belgium in the Second World War. I often wonder what it was like to try to create art in that environment.

who are all about to go to India for a month-long festival. I must stay here in Blighty, like the rest of us who work regular jobs. 169. Lot's of stuff!

We get in about 7:30 Wednesday night. Probably just get something to eat and do some gambling.

Thursday we'll probably do a lot of window shopping. We love to look in the "clothing museums" (you know, the really high end stores) and look around. Things are so far out of our price range that it doesn't hurt to look at them! Thursday night we will see "Legends in Concert," which is a really fun show. The performers all sing themselves, they don't lip sync.

Friday there are some old casinos we're going to go in to say "goodbye" to as they are going to be torn down. We're also going to check out the new oh-so-posh Wynn hotel and casino. That night, we're going to see "We Will Rock You", which is a show with Queen music. People say if you liked Queen, you'll like the show.

Saturday is Birthday Day! My dear husband is giving me a spa date, with massage, body wrap, facial, etc. I cannot WAIT for that. Later we'll go to dinner, and then to see George Carlin, one of my favs!

The rest of the time we'll play by ear. We are great vacation companions. We like to look at everything, and in the case of Vegas, we also enjoy gambling and just the whole feel of the place. I am so looking forward to this!!

February (baby is due) will be here before you know it, I guess you live to far away to babysit for us, you need to move closer. :) Autumn, it was over eighty degrees here today and will be the same for the next week. We don't have fall anymore. Summer lasts about seven months. It stinks. Fall is generally my favorite time of the year.

I'm on somewhat of an indie rock + cello kick tonight, so I'm listening to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_by_Death_(band)">Murder By Death and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cursive_(band)">Cursive. They're great bands without the cello, but the addition of the cello just makes them that much more enjoyable (though Cursive's cellist quit the band recently and they're not going to replace her, which kinda sucks).

It looks like a great listen -- I will most definitely check it out. I think when someone loves something, even if they don't/can't do it perfectly, the love for the activity still comes through. That is what touched me so much about the young autistic woman. She so loves "Wind Beneath My Wings" that it just shines through her performance. (Damn, I'm gonna cry again....)
