If my landlord let me, I'd adopt one or two more. :loveya:

Humane Society Has Katrina Feline Survivors Up For Adoption

POSTED: 5:24 pm CDT October 6, 2005

MILWAUKEE -- Some four-legged survivors of Hurricane Katrina are looking for new homes in Milwaukee.

The Humane Society is trying to place about four dozen cats and kittens rescued from the hurricane zone.

If you are interested, contact the Wisconsnin Humane Society at (414) 264-6257.

1. I volunteered at the Gonzales, LA shelter where NOLA animals were taken.
The Lamar-Dixon shelter in Gonzales is the staging area for rescued animals, which are wished, vetted, and then shipped to shelters across America.

If you are interested in adopting a Katrina animal after the 60-day reclaim period for owners is up, you will have to sign this agreement, which gives the owner rights until mid-January:

Look here for Katrina pets:

Sadly, some organizations that adopted breed-specific Katrina animals are now sinking so low as to sell these animals. One organization that I know of is selling Yorkies. Don't pay any adoption fee above what is usual--usually less then $100.

Good luck to everyone who adopts a Katrina animal. At last count, there are upwards of 10,000 Katrina animals in shelters. They need homes.

Archae--thank you for opening your home to a Katrina cat.

3. My landlord likes my two cats...
But he says I can only have two.

(He has a dog and cat himself.)
