Oh God, it's the frikken Blue Angels
Wasting tons of fuel an tax dollars for their feel-good display over the water in San Francisco.

Maybe it's time to go up north for the weekend...

1. I like the Blue Angels just fine but I would like them more if they were
cutting edge and used some sort of cheap safe alternative fuel.

2. Then there would be a point to their existence. Sorry, I'm in a
curmudgeonly mood, and they are flying over my house, rattling the windows, every 5 minutes.

I keep thinking about how terrifying it would be to hear this sound in a war zone.

4. Yeah. We get flyovers a couple times a year. Very unnerving. *hugs*

3. NO. You do NOT want to go north. Trust me.
It's horrible up here. Especially in Santa Rosa.

(says Shakespeare, who has a hard enough time with idiotic Santa Rosa drivers--the worst ANYWHERE--during week days, and hates the SF folks heading through her neighborhood on weekends and further snarling things on too-narrow 101)

Please, for the love of God....stay away!

5. Don't worry, I drive very stealthily through the back roads of Petaluma
out to the coast. I don't even make it that far.

Now, if you agree to stay out of Sausalito, I won't come to Santa Rosa for at least a few months.

6. Smart woman. 101 is for morans and neophytes.
My husband has some back way of getting to Sausalito that I can't even begin to recall (but I'm still fairly new up here, so I'll figure it out eventually). I only get to Sausalito when he's driving and I'm badgering. ;-)

8. Ok, as long as we're both stealthy, we can come to each other's turf.
Whew! Glad that's established.

I think I know his route. Vera clevah!

They're horrible money-wasting military glorifying asswipes. They have no business running stupid ass programs like this.

10. Thanks! It looks like you came through unscathed. I'm just glad it'll be
dark soon and they'll have to STFU until tomorrow. To my horror I just realized this is a long weekend, so I'm basically fucked. Now that Shakespeare says it's ok for me to go north, I just may!

9. I love the frikken Blue Angels!
When they come to Seattle every year for SeaFair, the land at Boeing field just down the hill from my house, and some of their turn-arounds are right over my house. They fly so low I can see the lettering on the helmets! Yeah, I'm weird, but I love 'em!

18. Somehow I think that's more appropriate.
And I remember liking them the first time I saw them.

Now they just remind me of all the lives lost in Iraq, and all the money spent on jingoistic displays.

19. Admit it.
We don't care about the Blue Angels.

We watch them for the same reason people watch NASCAR.

You know..................
