19. Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (sp) |
|
It's a resection of the soft palate, Uvula, tonsils, adenoids. But it still doesn't always alleviate snoring.

8. We'll have to try it. I took him to a sleep clinic, and they wanted us |
|
to buy one of those machines that cost a ton and really didn't make a difference. I worry because sometimes he literally chokes.

10. Better, thanks for asking. I got out of the house for a little bit. |
|
It was PassingFair's daughter's birthday party, so we went over for a bit. It was nice to feel human for a moment.

I saw the picture of Mr.G on that other thread. Must have been a while ago if that's your daughter in the photo with him, huh?

15. All the doctors say it shouldn't be anything to worry about |
|
We've had two opinions and then the sales pitch for the air machine. When he rolls over he is fine, but it's a heck of a snore.

13. Did they rule out sleep apnea? That's the one thing I think is worth |
|
checking out. Adenoids too.
My hubs sounded like a freight train whizzing through the house. You literally turned up your tv in the living room (which is on the other side of the house from the bedroom).
It really made a difference. The snore was smoother, lighter, like moistened airway that didn't get irritated/inflamed from a dry snore (which would cause it to swell and close more, I'm assuming). LOL.. sounds technical, doesn't it? Believe me, I've given it many, many, many, many and many more hours of thought... all through the night.
Try it, I hope it helps you/him/you.

16. He's been to two docs and a sleep study/clinic. |
|
They wanted to sell us the air machine thing that didn't seem to help him much (kept falling off), I've tried to do the adenoid thing but he is allergic to surgery.
