Has anyone heard of XuQa.com? |
|
I got some e-mail from them that I believe is a trick of some sort. They claim to be an online student gathering place, similar to facebook. Of course, they unabashedly claim to be vastly superior to facebook.
The reason I believe it's a trick is because although I've never heard of this site before (so I'm not a member in any way), they say someone on their site has a crush on me. Now, how would that person be able to just give them my e-mail address? The whole thing seems fishy.
So, basically I'm just looking for information. I'm not going to join because I already waste enough time on facebook. I'm just curious about whether or not I'm being scammed.

1. I got that same email and deleted it right away. |

I was also suspicious because they kept saying that I was a member of some other site that I've never even heard of. Also, I've yet to hear of anyone who is actually on this site.

2. Glad to see I'm not alone. |

I hate it when people try to play me. Although, some of those "I'm a Nigerian millionaire on the run, please hide my money for me" e-mails are pretty funny.

3. I saw a dateline special on that... |

...they were trying to see if they could set up a meeting with one of them. IT WAS AWSOME.
