I went and saw Green Day last night
Fuck the haters, I dont care what anyone says, Green Day rocks. They always have rocked and they always will rock!

The show went on for nearly two and a half hours, it was quite awesome.

The good:

- They sounded awesome
- The stage was pretty cool, lots of pyrotechnics throughout
- They actually tried to start a band on the stage during the show

The bad:

- $20 for parking! That's literally highway robbery!
- $11 for beer!

1. Green Day is great. I love 'em.
You are lucky you got to see them. Did they pull kids on stage to play again. It sure sounds like it. That's beyond special. That's what makes us love 'em so much.

2. They did, it was one of the highlights of the show!
I've been a Green Day fan since Dookie came out but this is the first I've ever seen them live. And it was a damn good show too!

4. I've liked them since Dookie too, but have never gotten to
see them live except the shows on television and from what I have seen they are great live. Billie Joe reminds me of Joan Jett a lot. Did you see the live thing from (I think it was) Chicage on MTV a few years ago? It was way cool.

I take it you love American Idiot? I know I do. I roll down the windows and turn up the volume when he sings, "Maybe I'm the faggot America. I don't have a redneck agenda" and also when he starts later in the cd with the part about Mr. President gas man. Funny thing about that is I live in a small town in North Carolina. I know I'm just asking for it, but I was attacked years ago before I ever asked for it. This place has turned me into a rabid liberal. And they can pry my punk rock music favorites out of my cold dead hands if they want to take it away. They sure try. I know how to get around them though.

Damn I love Green Day.

5. American Idiot is one of my favorites from last year.
Why? It made Green Day rock again, and I thought they were seriously losing it with Warning. American Idiot is such a damn good album, even if a few of the songs on it are overplayed.

They played at the Home Depot Center, and I'm starting to develop a love-hate relationship with that place (see the "bad" section of my review for why).

It was kinda funny because before they started playing, "YMCA" by the Village People started playing and I was like "Am I at the wrong fucking concert?" but then they started by blaring "Also Sprach Zarthrusta (sp?)" from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Here's the set list, and it included two cover songs and they both got the crowd going:

1. American Idiot
2. Jesus Of Suburbia
3. Holiday
4. Are we are the waiting
5. Longview
6. She
7. Song from Kerplunk (dont remember name)
- Make your own band
8. Brain Stew
9. Shout
10. Minority
11. Maria
12. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
13. Wake Me Up When September Ends
14. We Are The Champions (Queen cover)
15. Time Of Your Life

3. I hate you
heheh. I saw Green Day right after Dookey. Terrible concert. Only played for 2 hours. Also, the pit was filled with fathers and sons. Family atmosphere does not really get you in the mood

9. They did and it's one of the best shows I've seen all year.
Of course, it doesnt top the ill-fated Iron Maiden Ozzfest show in San Bernadino for the best of the year but it's definately up there!
