Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 11:06 PM by noahmijo
you have a legit reason to hate the Yanks. Maybe it's just being in Arizona (formely from da bronx) but all the haters I run into out here don't even like or watch baseball yet they love to gloat when the Yanks lose.....I tell em fuck off and go back to your stupid Lakers game. (Most people stupid enough to talk shit like that are from LA around here)

happiness growing up.

I haven't heard you mention any REAL reason to be a hater other than you're a fuckin sheep
like the rest of the haters with exceptions given to lifelong Red Sox, Mets, Royals, and Indians fans the only teams with legit reasons to hate on the Yanks.

That's the problem bandwagon jumping haters will never understand the pride Yanks and Sox fans have, as much as I may hate the Sox I identify with their rabid fans, I identify with guys like my friend who grew up right outside of Fenway, THEY have something to say, but you pissants who talk shit just for the sake of talking shit are beyond irritation.

You are the only one who knows anything about it, who knows anything about pride.

25. You miss the point.
The man is legitimately getting after you and all the other Yankee haters here who just hate the team because they're good year after year. I don't much like the Yankees, but it's not some irrational hatred: I'm a White Sox fan and the Yanks beat the hell out of us when we had decent teams in the 50's.

26. And may I say I would've much rather have lost it to the White Sox
Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 11:53 PM by noahmijo
If there's any team that is long overdue for a ring....plus one of my old baseball friends played for the White Sox for a brief period but he's in their AAA league now.

Big Hurt's a good guy too, thing is tonight I felt flustered of course, but what the hell The Angels deserved it they earned it, they didn't rob anybody they earned tonight and their trip to the ACLS, just like the White Sox man they earned their place all the way every step of the way.

Best of luck against the Cards/Astros.

27. i don't miss the point at all.
I listened to this person rant last night about real fans.

My husband is a White Sox fan, and I am a Cubs fan. We respect each other's feelings. I follow the Sox, because he likes them. I hate the Yankees for the way they beat the Sox, and I hate that they buy up all the decent players. I laugh when the best team that money can buy loses.

I am cheering for the White Sox to win it all. They are due. And no one has the right to tell me that that makes me a bad Cubs fan, or a bad fan in general. We can talk trash about each others' teams all we want. But no one has the right to tell anyone else they are not a fan. I like the city of New York in many ways, but the ethnocentrism is insufferable.

33. You're More Open-Minded Than Me!!
I'm a lifelong White sox fan, and, as far as I am concerned, the first time in my life I witness a Chicago pennant, it had better as HELL be the White Sox who bring it home!
My pride could not STAND it if it was the Cubs who did.
That is why I still love the Padres...1984 was such a magic year for me...I mean, 1983 was such a heartbreak...and then, here, just one year later...the Cubs are about to rub salt into my wounds....and the Padres, God bless them, spared me from that horrible moment.

I'm 34 years old. Born on the South Side of Chicago. Grew up in Comiskey Park. To this day I refuse to call it U.S. Cellular Field...to me, it will ALWAYS be Comiskey!

I acquired my love and allegiance to the Astros when my family moved to Texas in 1985. They became my local team. I couldn't very well root for the Rangers, they were in direct competition with my White Sox!!

So, a 'Stros fan I became. And I have now a 20-year long allegiance to the 'Stros. I remember the heartbreak that was 1986, that 16-inning game 7 that denied the 'Stros their franchise-first pennant! I still hate the Mets to this day for that!

And here I stand, right now...on the very brink of seeing BOTH my favorite teams with their first pennants in my entire lifetime...AND BOTH IN THE SAME YEAR!!!

My dear God, if the 'Stros and White Sox end up in the Series, I'm gonna be happy whichever team wins...I have to root for a seven-game Series, and a TIE. In the end, having been a Sox fan for longer, I suppose I gotta root for the Sox...but, damn, I would be very happy whichever team won the Series in the case of a Sox-'Stros Series!

32. EXACTLY!!!
and that is why I still hate the Yankees. The 1950's....1964. I wasn't even ALIVE then, but it don't matter. I, as a lifelong White Sox fan...HATE THE SKANKEES!!!

30. You Forgot White Sox Fans
We, too, have legitimate reasons to hate the fuck out of the Yankees.

Long, bitter history of the Yankees always getting the better of us, just when it mattered most. Always, somehow, managing to pull it outta your ass, and always against the White sox...as if y'all just existed to frustrate the White Sox.

Then, too, there is just the natural rivalry of Chicago versus New York...but there is a lot of bitter history there. The 1950's...1964...Billy Pierce versus Whitey Ford....and us always coming up just short.

THAT is why I hate the Yankees.

It's easy to love a perennial winner, dude. Would you still be a fan, at age 34 if your team had NEVER IN YOUR LIFETIME won a pennant? I doubt it. My fan loyalty is much stronger than yours, because it's easy to be loyal to someone who always wins.

13. So I won the trifecta after all!
Tiger Woods beat John Daly, and Vinnie Testaverde of the Jets beat the naysayers. A Yankee loss yesterday would have made the day perfect.

Yankees put their money into their product.

GOP puts their money into their pockets. Many ML owners are like the GOP.

because they act like they have a divine right to win all the time. They have what I call "America's Team Syndrome," which I named after the fall and decline of Dallas Cowboys empire. They had such a great time, they forgot to invest in younger players who could have given them a future.
