a year ago i was certain this man would be president now. instead...
i was at Logan airport tonight to meet my brother at a gate arriving back in Boston. I was sitting behind the glass waiting for him when I saw what I thought looked like John Kerry on the other side coming through the doorway. I stood up to get a better look and approached, sure enough, it was him. He walked right by me. Brightly I said, "hello, Senator". He looked down, way down at me (him-tall, me-small), said "hello" politely, & kept walking. I watched him until he was out of sight, walking alone through the airport. No entourage, no secret service and then I thought of the chimp in the White House :banghead: ... and I thought of all of you here too.

:grouphug:

just thought i'd let ya know.

2. You should have said, "Hello President Kerry..."
not to make him feel bad, but because it's the truth.

5. the thought crossed my mind but,
i painfully let go of that sometime in January.
No matter what any of us believe went on to put * in the White House, John Kerry isn't our President. I can't wait for this national nightmare to end.

Back in the beginning of January I was walking near Kerry's Beacon Hill home and I put a Post-It with these words facing inward, on one of his windows though- *Happy New Year President Kerry*
'wonder if he ever saw it....

9. Um, okay. Respectfully...
A Post-it note?

A Post-it note?

If I were JK, I'd be pretty insulted by that.

And I don't know if I really believe your little story here. If it's a lie, it's actually a pretty tasteless, cruel thing to do to those of us who truly support John Kerry, and who know, thanks to the months of research into voter fraud we've done--you know, the kind that was substantiated by Congress--not just "believe" he was elected President last year. Why don't you go and share your story in the JK forum? I'd love to see what the reactions would be there.

is your problem? I suggest a valium for whatever it is that's ailing you.

That wasn't respectful at all.

3. Thanks for sharing this. Wow. I'm impressed.
Both for his humility and your temerity. That's incredibly cool.:D

And I sure do share your frustration...:banghead:

12. I absolutely agree.
You can say whatever you want about the flaws of his campaign, but he really has so much to be proud of in his long career, unlike the present squatter-in-chief. And I have no doubt that he would have brought his vision to The White House. This election broke my heart. I had such high hopes, as well.:-(

7. That's cool you got to talk to him
I felt the same way you did a year ago today. A year ago, I was up in Milwaukee, where I spent a couple months total, twelve hours a day, campaigning for Kerry with the League of Conservation Voters. I just remember the feeling that things were finally going to get better very soon. I thought it was going to be very close but I was certain we would pull it off...

But what happened with that election profoundly changed me (and no doubt many others), and I don't think I'll ever be the person I was before it again. After 2000, I was very angry but very inspired to try to make things better; after '04 I'm just resigned to whatever happens happens.
