Am I silly for dressing my dogs up for Halloween?
Edited on Tue Oct-11-05 10:46 AM by Shell Beau
My Hank will be a construction worker. Hutch will be a dog head hanging out of a shark mouth (it will look like he got eaten by the shark). My Lolly girl will be Frankenstein. The costumes were only $5 and they are SOOO cute. I couldn't help myself!!

On edit, I do not treat my dogs as accessories!

HI-larious! I'm always a supporter of that.

OH! And when you post them, can you do it all sneaky with a title like "Candygram." or "Flowers Ma'am." Please?

4. No. I think it's funny.
I was flipping channels the other night and on one of those home video shows someone had dressed their dog in a scorpion costume. For some odd reason seeing that critter walk across the floor with eight legs dangling made me larf.

My sister takes her cat to sit on Santa's lap every year and has a picture taken to commemorate the event.

Edited on Tue Oct-11-05 12:08 PM by Patiod

My mom used to dress our dachshund up each year in a little cape and witch hat, and he used to sit there very happily and let the little kids fuss over him while she (dressed in witch hat and costume) gave out candy.

20. I also bought the Shark costume for Rusty, but
it doesn't quite fit him right. It's rough to get one to look decent on a mini-dachshund. But you have one too right?

She looks a lot like a dachshund! Usually people crop their ears, but I loved her ears and I just couldn't do it!

I have had hard times finding costumes to fit her as well!! One of my big dogs will be going into that costume!

29. She's so cute
I saw that picture of her the other day and thought she was a doxie! The face structure is so similar.

I should have some pictures of Rusty as Elvis in a couple of days.

And I'm so glad you didn't do her ears. My brother has a boxer and he didn't do her ears either. She looks like the goober she really is :)

weenie dog I have ever seen". It was so funny b/c her face is almost identical to a dachshund. It is the body and ears that are so different. The ears give the dogs so much more expression!! I'm all for keeping the dog's ears in tact!!

25. NO! BTW, funniest dog costume ever:
My parents had a fawn pug and one year they put a pearl necklace on her and told everyone she was Barbara Bush.

It would have been funnier if she was a mean, nasty dog but she was a sweet pug...she was spoiled though so that helped.

44. Why not?
I have some friends who took their first child to a Halloween party when she was a year old. They put her in yellow footie pajamas and put a leash on her and called her Old Yeller. Why not your dogs too?

Love the shark idea.

46. My little one loves putting on sweaters and such. She
doesn't have a problem with costumes. The other 2, I am not sure about. But if they are uncomfortable, I will certainly take the costume off. I just want to take a quick picture and I'll be satisfied. Why is it mean?

Some people bring their dogs Trick-or-Treating with them around here. I even buy a box of dog biscuits for that day. My favorites last year were a "golden" pirate and a poodle cheerleader.

And because I, erm, "borrowed" the pic from NoNags.com, I would like to plug them. But that's easy, because they're my all-time favorite site for FREE software! http://www.nonags.com/nonags/index.html
