WASHINGTON -- With the armed services struggling to recruit new members, they're having to come up with new ways to replenish their ranks.
The Army in particular has struggled, but it has a new master plan, including new financial incentives for enlistees, a proposed finder's fee for soldiers who refer recruits and a new way for recruiters to make their pitch.
The Washington Post reports that the Army National Guard is promising three free iTunes music downloads to anyone who agrees to be contacted by a military recruiter.
The Army is offering prospective recruits extra pay if they agree to join units that are scheduled to deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan.
