15. Gawd I HATE those "statements of purpose."

They are usually a concocted load of crap that people over-cliche' just to sound like someone they aren't.

If I were a personnel director, I'd hire the person who wrote the most honest statement of purpose. Something like:

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I believe that my potential employment with you will fulfill many purposes. First, it will pay my rent. Second, I can buy beer on the weekend and entertain my good-for-nothing friends. Third, I'll have health insurance, which I haven't had in years. And for all of this, I will sell my soul to your company and be the most loyal employee you have ever hired.
