Damnit, neo-cons figured us out again - thinks Comm-in-Chief is Clinton Ad |
|
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/A/AP_ON_TV_COMMANDER_IN_CHIEF?SITE=DEWIL&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT'Commander in Chief' seen as Clinton hypeEW YORK (AP) -- ABC's "Commander in Chief" would seem to be a pretty straightforward drama. The president dies. The vice president (played by Geena Davis) succeeds him in the Oval Office. And, omigosh, she's a woman!
But there's more going on here, suspicious minds are thinking: "Commander in Chief" isn't just this fall's most-watched new series - it's a sinister scheme by Hollywood lefties to hype Hillary Clinton for the White House.
Could "Commander in Chief" (9 p.m. EDT Tuesdays) really be a weekly infomercial for Hillary?
"Keeping with the modern liberal tradition of subliminal socialist indoctrination (through U.S. television), `Commander in Chief' seeks to accomplish more than prime-time entertainment," warned a writer named J.B. Williams on the National Ledger Web site, while the blogger Colossus pronounced the show "a nefarious plot to advance the notion of a Hillary Clinton presidency."

if they can have an entire "news" network devoted to a GOP informercial.... why can't we have a program that promotes a female president?
Then again, Commander-in-Chief could very well just be ENTERTAINMENT.

I read that. They're really so lost in the woods. Bochco will botch it, though, as far as I'm concerned. He's okay in his own way, but this show is not an "action" show, it's a thinking man's show. And the thinking so far reminds me far more of Mr. Sterling back a couple of years ago than of anything related to Hillary.

Enjoy it. She ain't running for President in '08, or any year. Forget about it. If she was running, don't you think her profile would be a little higher? You see Chuck Schumer's face in the media ten times for every time you hear Hillary mentioned. If I were HRC, I'd let the VRWC continue to think I had ideas about running for President, and in about November of 2007, I'd hold a press conference, announced a week ahead of time to maximize the hype, during which I would say something like, "you know, I'm really flattered that World Net Daily, News Corp., and Pat Buchanan want me to run for President, but I'm deliriously happy in the United States Senate representing the citizens of New York State. Thanks, but no thanks...uh...and no questions, please."
