So, what are you going to be for Halloween?
Last year I went as a concept, I went as a "White Lie". Dressed in white jeans and a white shirt. Placed labels all over me with "white lies", i.e.; "Yes, I always drive the speed limit", "You look great, have you lost weight?", "They're real", "What I don't tell you is as important as what I do tell you", "I'm sorry I don't have that report, my computer crashed", "I have more money than I know what to do with", "No that outfit doesn't make you look fat", "I’ll call you", etc.

This year I think I'm going to go as Tippi Hedren from Alfred Hitchcock's movie "The Birds". Going to pick up a '60s style suit at the thrift shop, and some birds from the hobby store, and put them all over my suit. If I'm lucky, and I hope I am, I'll be able to pick up one of those wonderful hats with the netting, and yup, birds on my hat too.

2. What am I going to be for Halloween? Staying at home...
drinking a few beers.

In other words, not a goddamned thing.

4. I was thinking of going really simple this year.
Maybe a cowgirl. I've gone all out the past few years. I kind of feel like taking it easy. However, I may go as a ballerina. Believe it or not, all of my costumes I wore when I took dancing (age 8-13)still basically fit. I may try that!

5. This:

Just went costume shopping with my friend last night, and I had a heck of a time finding one, but I like the one I ended up with-- and it was cheap-- about $24 in the store.

9. Hey Jor . . .
You mean to tell me you don't go to Halloween parties? See, I think the "White Lie" idea would be great for you because it's so cerebral. Also, another idea for you would be for you go as an identity crisis. Don't take that personal, because I was going to do that this year until I decided to dress up like an old '60s movie broad. Anyway, the identity crisis idea is to wear black and get a bunch of those "Hello, my name is" stickers and put different names on them, and plaster them all over yourself.

Oh Socom III. I picked it up last night and was playing the off-line game. You should be proud of me Jor, I got through the first part safe and sound, accomplished my mission!!! I can't believe it, so I think they are just making it super easy. Drove the jeep right into a post - ha ha, but I got better. Was much better at driving the boat - well, naturally (tee he). Couldn't continue because I've got major projects/deadlines with no wiggle room, and I want them to be done well.

Yeah, be sure to e-mail me when you get your game and what to do when everyone gets online.

20. Congrats!
I'm super proud of your success in SOCOM III...I just have to sit through 2 more hours of school and I'm going to get the game! I will e-mail when the rest of the guys get it tonight and I'll give you a time...and if that time doesn't work thats okay because I'll leave you my new name (I hope Yukon John is not taken!) and we'll work it out from there...see ya later

P.S. I'm sure SOCOM III will be much easier for you than SOCOM II was!

23. Thanks for the kudos
but I'm sure I was playing at lowest rank, but it gave me a bit of a feel for the new game. Also, I registered my name as Goldie, so you can always send me a clan invite when you log on. I believe there has to be at least five characters to a name. I'll check my e-mail when I get home too.

I'll most likely e-mail my crew and cancel rowing this afternoon. It's misting here, won't be too much fun on the river, and . . . that way I'll get home earlier.

Anyway, looking forward to playing!!! Hope to see you on-line tonight.

37. No . . .
I shot you an e-mail this morning, but essentially, I got on later than I expected last night and found Ctrl 5 full. I'll try again tonight. I've got a library gig, so I suspect I'll be on later again. Ugh!

8. Well...I was going to be a cheerleader since
my husband is going to be a football player (only because he doesn't have to buy anything that way). But I like your white lie idea so much, I'm seriously thinking about borrowing that if you wouldn't mind. Chris said he'll make fun of me if I do, he thinks it's silly but I love it!

11. Feel free to use
the White Lie idea. If you need more white lies, I've got many, many more  . Went over real big at the party I went to last year. And hey, it's easy. Just invest in a few pages of stickers, and print them out!

15. Here are some that I used last year.
You’re a great dancer!
I’ll call you!
I’ll have that to you by Monday!
I’m too sick to come to work!
Check is in the mail!
You’re funny!
You mean these cookies are homemade! Yum!
No, that outfit doesn’t make you look fat!
That new hairstyle sure looks good on you!
You look great! Have you lost weight?
That color looks good on you!
You aren’t a bit overweight to me!
Yes, I think you are more beautiful than her!
Yes, I think you are more handsome than him!
They’re real!
I’ve been with two people!
What I don't tell you is as important as what I do tell you.
I don’t really eat that much
I have more money than I know what to do with!
I always drive the speed limit!
I never lie!
I'm sorry I don't have the report. My computer crashed
My alarm clock died.
THE DOG ATE MY homework!
You’re not that small!
You look young for your age!
That’s brilliant!
I love your car!
It doesn’t look that bad!

Hope this helps - enjoy!

24. Heinous!
I realized that I have an authentic catholic schoolgirl skirt in green and gray, if I wanted to be a slytherin (it would be, if not authentic to the films, otherwise *PERFECT*), but the waist is about 3 inches too small!!!!! :(

What do you think the chances are of losing three inches off my waist in the next 2 weeks? :(

21. My family is dressing up as all the dumbass
characters in the White House. Bush,Cheney,Condi,Rove,Rumsnamara, etc going to wear prison stripes and chains. Making masks out of blown up pics from the internets......the worst expressions we can find.....shouldnt be hard to do. Pasting the pics onto hard posterboard and making the heads extra large. I'll take pics and upload here after Halloween.
Taking the kids trick-or-treating. :)

28. Not sure yet.
Last year I was John Kerry. Bought a mask and dressed up in a suit and tie and then clipped things to the suit like a Heinz ketchup label, a "Mary Cheney is a Lesbian" sign, a purple heart, etc...

Don't know yet about this year. But I love Halloween so I'll get something together!

We're going to a costume party a week from Friday, and we still have no idea what we're going to be. We don't want to be dressed like everyone else, and we don't want to do anything we've done before (KISS, Gothic costumes, Dracula and witch).
