Man Killed In Dispute Over Sandwich
<snip>

PHILADELPHIA -- A confrontation inside a Brewerytown store led to the death of a man who was thrown through a window.

Police said that the argument appeared to be about food that was prepared in the Community Food Market & Deli at the corner of 29th and Oxford streets.

Sources in the police department told NBC 10 News that there was a dispute between a customer and Emanuel Oliver, a 52-year-old man who made sandwiches in the store. A fight broke out and the employee crashed through the window.

A witness told NBC 10 that the customer was upset because his food order was not correct.

The crime scene unit said that they believe the glass came down on Oliver's neck. He was taken to Hahneman Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"I'd never seen him argue with anybody, never seen him in a problem. It's just crazy. It's like crime around here, every single day something's going on," said Rosanna Ousley, a resident of the area.

Another area resident told NBC 10 News that Oliver was going home to the Dominican Republic in a couple of weeks.

The shop was closed Tuesday night so workers could clean up the scene.

The alleged attacker has not yet been apprehended. Police described him as being about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 240 pounds. They believe he lives in the neighborhood.

10. Yeah I was reminded of some deep thought provoking philly threads
from the campaign. I made the CRITICAL error of posting that "it ...is....just ... a ....sandwich. Get it?" This was met with much angst, ire, and negative language. I remember readin about how Kerry HAD JUST LOST PENNSYLVANIA because he didn't order a sandwich in a way that the borderline understood from repitition and positive reinforcement.

Something like that.

16. I'm not sure I'd DELIBERATELY kill someone over a cheesesteak, but
I might very well accidently trample someone who got between me and a fresh, steamy Pudge's Cheesesteak Hoagie (mayo, no peppers).

8. It must have been a...... BROODWICH!
Voice: It is the Broodwich. Forged in darkness from wheat harvested in hell's half acre. Baked by Beelzebub. Slathered with mayonnaise beaten from the evil eggs of dark chicken force-fed to dogs by the hands of a one eyed mad man. Cheese boiled from the rancid teat of fanged cow. Layered with 666 separate meats from an animal, which has maggots for blood.
Frylock: See? Told ya.
Master Shake: I tasted mustard.
Voice: Yeah... Dijon mustard.

13. Grr! My first thought: "I bet it was Philadelphia"
where people are shot over snow-shoveled parking spaces, where teenage girls bring guns to school and have shootouts over some boy, where rappers get involved in drug nonsense and then their relatives get killed. Sick sick sick.

At least in this instance he wasn't shot. But it's still really sick.

17. The guy probably thought he was being cool ...
... throwing the employee through the window - some action-movie inspired dumbass -didn't realize you can kill somebody like that. Now he's probably going to end up with a needle in his arm - oh well, I don't want people that stupid and violent living among the rest of us.
