2. I think you should add in an option for those
who are actively engaged in the process/search, etc. of buying a home.

4. True, but for the purposes of vehement objection to the Republican
tax proposal, those in the process of buying have just as much an investment in the outcome as those who already own.

14. We got a hell of a deal w/ours in 97
3+ acres, 8 rooms, full cellar, 2 car door garage, a HUGE front deck, a large breezeway, plenty of attic storage, an attached back back shed (which we might make it into a master bedroom someday).

We paid $45,600 and an extra $15,000 for remodeling (kitchen update and appliances, bathroom update, and new windows, doors, insulation and siding.

Oh and BTW we are only walking distance from the lake and a couple of miles to the River for a kayak trip. 24 miles from A premier skiing mtn, and about 20 from class 4 and 5 Whitewater rafting. Homes on my nearby lake are going for $250,000 to $500,000 or more. I wonder what we'd get?

Downsides: Only on 1 bathroom, and too few closets. We have oil back up but Maine winters are incredibly harsh. It'd be a terrible waste of money to use oil. We haven't for years even though it'd be SO much easier.

Another big bummer? No nearby stores, banks, post offices, ect. :-(

13. Well, technically, we don't OWN it.
We own almost 3 years worth of it.

The bank still owns the other 25 years worth.
