yesterday. Really. I was going to post a thread titled "Marital problems, pink hair and a trip to the E.R." but I will save that for later as I've lost a lot of blood and don't have the energy to relive my past 10 day's via writing it all down.
Anyhow, my peircing. I decided to finally do it. Went to Wicked Way's Tattoo yesterday an hour before I had to pick my kids up from school. Was greeted by a huge bald 6ft+ heavily tattooed, peirced gentleman named Booda. It's pretty much what I expected. The peircing hurt like hell, and this comingg from a woman who gave birth twice with absolutely no pain medication at all!
Everything went ok until he pulled the needle out. Blood came gushing down my face and all over my hands and shirt. He grabbed a towel and applied pressure and tried to assure me that the blood was pretty normal and that it would stop. He let go of the rag and more blood. I ended up soaking about 15 wads of paper towels as big burly tattoo Booda's hand started to shake. I started getting worried then. The blood stopped after about a half hour and we started trying to clean the blood off my face and hands which had dried and was not coming off easily. I had to go. He said when I got home I needed to get in the shower and let warm water clean it up without messing with the peircing. Got in the car, looked in the rearview mirror and saw that I looked like I just got the shit beat out of me. Drove home.....running late to pick up the kids and tried to splash water on my face to get the dried blood off. Started bleeding again, pretty bad. Called my mom, and briefly let her know what was going on and asked her to run and get the kids.
Got off the phone, looked in the mirror again and realized why Booda was shaking at the tattoo parlor.
You know the part in those horror movies when a limb is severed and the blood squirts?! Yeah, that was me, it was coming out of my left nostril so fast is made a blood bubble then would squirt.
Called my mom back, said "Im going to the E.R., Bye" then hung up, grabbed a big towel as I had already soaked a white rag three times and kept washing it out. Got in the car and hoped I would get pulled over so I could have a police ecort. I was so scared i was going to pass out.
At a red light I slammed on the horn to get everyones attention, made pretty sure I was in no danger and kept on the horn while I ran the red light.
Got to the E.R. and was told to wait. In the meantime the blood was slowing down and ended up stopping again. Went into the bathroom there and carefully, slowly, cleaned myself up again.
A nurse said that I had obvioulsy severed an artery,( I think thats what she said) and that there are many in a nostril and for me to go buy Afrin nasal spray and that it would constrict the blood vessels. Told me to come back if it started gushing again.
I have no insurance so Im glad I stopped bleeding before I was taken back through the $200 doors. It bled a little more today but nothing like it did yesterday.
Booda has called a couple times to check on me, even though I signed my life away before i got the peircing I think he was not only being nice but probably concerned that I might sue. I'm not of course as I dont think he did anything wrong.
Booda said in the 15 years he has done peircings, and dermal punch he has never seen that amount of blood, ever.
So that was my day, yesterday.....
