Advice on feeding 16 kids...
Edited on Wed Oct-12-05 04:15 PM by Maddy McCall
They are getting tired of Hamburger Helper, ramen noodles, and pinto beans.

And it costs us $75 to get Sad Meals at McDonalds.

Can someone give us advice?

:silly:

5. Buffets are satanic. Gluttony, you know. Must resist temptation.
Pizza is from that devil country of Italy. Sorry, no can do.

6. Actually, they're making pot holders and bird houses .
They sell them at church socials to support their shoe habit. Yes, the little parasites demand SHOES! I don't know why. They never go anywhere, being homeschooled and all.

11. When the girls hit puberty
you can sell them off to much older male church members. I'm sure they'll want a young girl to breed as many children w/ as possible.

13. Well, little Jabobafet is almost 12.
At 12, she becomes marryin' material. Yeah, we're looking into that option.

You know what they say. Old enough to...well, never mind.

20. Let them eat the shoes, if they like 'em so much.
Fun fact: leather is edible. Just boil it for a few hours in some salt water. Economical, too. There are probably a lot of worn-out and outgrown shoes around the house; this way they're good for something.

7. Spaghetti's cheap
And there's always good old macaroni and cheese. Stew? You can use cheap cuts of meat and lots of vegetables. Sloppy Joe's? Shepherd's Pie?

That's a lot of kids to feed and I know how kids eat. That's all I can think of off hand. Might be time to jack a deer and feed 'em venison.

9. Shepherd's Pie! That's something I can add to the menu.
It sounds Christlike.

Can't do spaghetti. See post above. It's from Italy and Italy is devil country.

We would add honey to the gruel, but, again, we have to be careful of the Gluttony thing.

22. Sell some of them for medical research
or you can do what my dad did, when he was trying to feed 13 kids on a janitor's salary - raise cows, pigs, chickens, and a vegetable garden.

I've shoveled my share of shit, that's for sure.

23. Grilled cheese samwiches and tomato soup.
Good ole peanut butter and jelly samwiches.

chili - meatloaf (big meatloafs) - fish sticks - tuna casseroles

Take it from me (I'm from a family of 9) - you may get tired of the same ole, same ole, but you eat it when you are hungry. x( You also eat very quickly, in the hopes of getting seconds before it all runs out. (It took me years to slow down my eating. )

30. It must cost an arm and a leg to eat like that
All those canned and processed things for a huge family. It would be cheaper to make more things from scratch, for that many people.
