1. pot.kettle.black
The idea that somebody you disagree with should have a psych evaluation smacks of MAJOR control issues.

But you gave me quite a laugh, so thanks!

2. True. Never thought of it that way.
I guess I shouldn't be so damn judgmental.

4. I'm a little sensitive
because so many of my ideas and choices were loathed by my fellow citizens in the hellhole town I grew up in.

That experience taught me to butt out of other people's business.

7. I agree with being out of people's business; however,
I just feel that there is something to this story and perhaps I would like it studied. Most of these cases occur in a fundamentalist religious background, like Duggar is a part of.

10. yes, most of the baseball team sized families
are fundies.

And believe me, I would rather that they weren't breeding at that rate.

But my personal sense of ethics dictates that I put my love of freedom above my personal preferences. I don't like it. But I refuse to compromise my values, lest fundies decide it's ok to limit MY freedoms.

Oh wait, they already are. :eyes:

6. Okay, I'm self-deleting this post before a flamewar occurs.
I personally would like to see this studied, but I will keep this to myself from here on out. I was preemptively judgmental.

12. That's too bad
because as the other poster said, you are entitled to your opinion.

My opposition to your opinion, as stated in your OP, doesn't mean you should be allowed to express it.

I would imagine that you could find a way to discuss this issue without being judgemental.

If we (progressives) want to encourage people not to have 16 kids, and therefore cut down on overpopulation, I think we should do so through education and example, not by alienation. But that's just my 2 cents. Feel free to reject it.
