Wooo hooo!!! I guessed who the FALSE MESSENGER was 2 pages before the
big reveal!!!

I've been reading Tad Williams' "Memory, Sorrow and Thorn" trilogy for the past 15 years. I read each when it came out, but somehow got stuck about half way through To Green Angel Tower, and just picked it up again 10 years later.

About two pages before the big reveal about who the hell "The False Messenger" was I guessed it.

I am the greatest! 2,300 pages and 15 years later and I finally figured it out!!!

2. Oh, I can't say!
It would ruin it for anyone who ever wanted to read it in the future! But I will say that Williams did a good job of hiding it just enough so that when you figure it out you slap your head and say "DUH!", but that you don't figure it out too early, because if you did, the book wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable.

You'll just have to get to page 2,302!

3. Christ, I don't think I have 15 years left.

4. Hee hee =) SPOILER ALERT!
The (long dead) mad priest Nisses is the False Messenger! At least, his message, which the heroes get is false, but it's also the element on which the entire series is based, so if you knew it starting out, the whole novel would feel kinda empty, but inasmuch as it's so fundamental, it's something that you really don't expect, but once you figure it out, it hits you like a ton of bricks.

It would be interesting to re-read the whole thing and figure out if the rest of his book is equally false. I guessed it a little differently than it turned out, though - at least different than it was ultimately spelled out.

Now you know, but I'm sure it wouldn't have taken you 15 years to read the series; I'm just really, really, really slow.

5. Thank you.
Knowing the end doesn't spoil it all. I like the unravelling more than the surprise.
