Job interview this morning -- wish me luck |
|
it's for a CNC programmer position. Kind of a long shot as I don't hae CNC programming experience, but they told me this was not a problem, they were more concerned with AUTOCAD experience as the software they use relies heavily on autocad...
I do have a couple of concerns - mainly what they will offer for pay and also the drive -- it's just under an hour commute and winter is coming (also gas prices)
oh well - I'll see what happens

I've had friends who were CNC programmers, and the pay can be good if your skilled (or can become skilled).

6. it was a 2 hour interview |
|
and included an "test" of my abilities on autocad....
the interviewer did most of the talking, didn't ask me much. gave me a tour and I asked some questions about the operations. Then he sat me down the a CNC programmer, who gave me a "tour" of the software.
They aren't offering what I need in terms of pay. Told him straight out I needed at least what I'm getting now. He said he would have to talk to other people about that and he had other people to interview
He said if they decide to offer me the job I'll hear something sometime next week.
oh well....

waiting for an answer is an horrible time. At least they didn't say no righ away when you told them about the pay. So I cross my fingers that it works out for you
