Help! Sinus Surgery TOMORROW !!! |
|
I am sitting in this cafe in West HOllywood and the coffee woman just asked me when I am having my surgery. I told her tomorrow and she asked if I was nervous and I replied dryly, "Yeah". I ahve heard mixed reviews concerning post-op, etc....
I would appreciate anybody who has experienced this procedure either personally or vicariously through others and could lend me some insight into it. And I will gladly accept any and all condolences and words of encouragement. I did not think I would react this way....

and back to work in two weeks. The worst part was the gauze. The pain was bad too but they gave him percosets, which he took for the first week then switched to regular advil.
Now he can smell things, breath through his nose, and sounds like a human.

3. It'll be OK, I promise. |
|
I had sinus surgery about a year and a half ago and it wasn't bad at all. I spent about a week off work, resting, taking my pain pills, etc. Do you have anyone to look after you a bit? Not that you'll be an invalid or anything, but it's nice to have someone shuffle you off to bed after the Lortab or whatever kicks in. Just breathe through your mouth for a few days and watch a bunch of videos, you'll be fine. Don't worry. :)

Thanks for replies so far....I am looking forward to the pain medication though I would be in a better mood if they weren't specifically to alleviate THAT pain....

Pain drugs are good, just be sure to take the stool softeners and/or bulking agents with them!
And welcome to DU!
