1. This is one of the best movies...EVER.
MrG and I still giggle like mad until we cry practically. So, yes, I like this movie.

21. I Think The Muted & Faded Colors Are Very Effective...
... the whole movie looks like a faded tinted-sepia photograph.

One of my favorite scenes and ongoing gag, is when Delmar thinks that Pete has been turned into a frog.

2. I liked it more
It was the thing that really clued me in that after nearly a decade together, my ex didn't really know me at all. We rented it and watched it and he was absolutely astounded that I knew all the words to all the songs on the soundtrack. I'm a Southern girl for chrissake. *snort*

I think that was the beginning of the end.

9. You won't regret it.
In fact, I credit that CD for turning me onto Allison Krauss...whose stuff I later got.

You do know that that movie is based on the Odyssey, by Ullysus, right? It's actually a very deep movie, on many different levels...

I just loved it and you're giving me inspiration to go rent it again! Thanks!

:)

11. Go To Sleep Little Baby...
Your momma's gone away
And your daddy's gonna stay
Didn't leave nobody but the baby

(That's one of my favorite songs from the movie.)

5. It's fantastic.
I think it's hilarious that the Cohen brothers say it's based on the Oddysey, but they've never read it.

10. Fantastic movie!
Brilliant! Terrific! Can't say enough good things about it. There are so many great lines in that movie and the music is heavenly. I grew up on that stuff and as soon as "Big Rock Candy Mountain" started playing the first time I saw it, i got a big grin on my face that never left.

23. If you like the soundtrack, look out for the concert DVD
Down From the Mountain

Aside from a few minutes marred by some very annoying child singers, this is really worth seeing.

Performers: John Hartford, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch, Chris Thomas King, The Cox Family, Fairfield Four, Union Station, Colin Linden, The Nashville Bluegrass Band, The Peasall Sisters, Ralph Stanley, David Rawlings, The Whites.

24. Incredibly funny!
I loved the music and the "Down From The Mountain" concert I saw on PBS but I kept putting off seeing it because I don't like George Clooney. Once I did see it, I loved it!! Highly recommend it.

Five thumbs up!!

25. Contrived and overhyped
Of course, George Clooney's always a deal breaker for me. I just don't get his appeal.

30. It's supposed to be contrived.
That was kinda the underlying current of the film. Clooney is usually a deal breaker for me, too, but in a moment of boredom I gave in and I wasn't sorry.

That kind of music has always been some of my favorite and my father called me one day and told me I had to see this flick because of the story and the music. I got it and liked it a lot.
