why do biLL coLLectors think i won't hang up on them |
|
especiaLLy when they just have an automated diaLer caLLing from an unregistered number, or from some midwestern state (aLso fLorida)?
oh how sweet; a recorded message asking me to stay on the Line for a 'very important message'.... then after 5 minutes or so, a nasty sounding person who can't pronounce my name, may or may not come on the Line to ask me for money.

exactly? How many times do they call per week? Every day? Do they threaten you? How does the drill go?

5. 3-8 times every fucking day from 7am - 10pm |
|
though it's stopped (for the most part) thanks to the impending bankruptcy Law. :bounce:
they don't threaten... they're just so fucking nasty! and usuaLLy, their accents are so thick, i can bareLy understand them.
i aLso get insuLted that they butcher my fairLy common name.... and make wiLd assumptions about maritaL status, work status, etc.

of their nastiness? Not trying to bum you out more, but you did bring it up and I'm just curious as to their methods.

they (rapid) fire a bunch of questions at you, and when there done asking your personaL info, they ask (rudeLy), "how much wouLd you Like to pay today? why not!? then, how much wiLL you pay today!? why not!? when can we expect you to pay!?"
it goes on Like that for a good 10 minutes or more. they want money, and they want you to give them something immediateLy... or they'LL keep caLLing.
the worst is when they get a hoLd of your work and ceLL number.... which god knows how they got those, since i don't give them to ANYONE who shouLdn't have them.

12. If they call you at work, you can stop that easily. |
|
Tell them that your employer does not allow personal calls at work, and ask them never to contact you there. The Fair Credit Reporting Act forbids them from contacting you at work if you tell them to stop.

|
it's like, "leave your name, and the name of your business, and the reason for your call, otherwise we will not call you back"...amazingly, it kinda works! :D either they do as i tell them, or they don't leave a message :)

Sam Kinnison type screams follow this message.
Nah, I've NEVER had collection calls myself. ----- Your ears will most surely bleed and your head explode if you stay on the line with those assholes. I seriously DO like the idea of the boat horn until their ears bleed, but I find that the William Tell Overture played at maximum volume works well too.
The added fun in the loud music technique is that you can sit across the room and scream unintelligible things occasionally so they THINK you are trying to talk to them.
A sphincter says "what?"
