wow, i never realized cleaning could be so emotional!!
damn...i'm cleaning out my entire room, top to bottom, and it's really throwing me for a loop :wow:

in a drawer, i have found both the remnants of my recent 5 yr relationship, but also a motherlode of photos from my previous lives, dating back at least 11 years, since i was 17. so many no-longer friends, loves, places...it's kinda rough to go through it all. i wasn't expecting this...

sigh, thanks for letting me get that out. :)

3. Happens to me every time I move.
Those memories... those are good things... think of it as a gift to you... to allow you to evaluate all that's past to bring you where you are.

Melancholy as hell... but sometimes melancholy is the perfect thing. It's all part of the tapestry.

4. I know what you mean
It's not even photos sometimes, but for me, clothes and books... things that were gifts... it's amazing how emotions and memories are attached to objects. I end up being a pack rat with some things I want to hang on to. Some things I don't even want to look at and put away - even though I know I'd throw them out if I brought myself to deal with them.

6. It's like an exorcism
I'm going to start doing the same thing this weekend.

I'm going to be cleaning out the house I shared with my ex-wife for the last 8 1/2 years of my life. After I moved out, I just took enough to set up my tiny 1 BR apartment. Considering I lived in a 3 BR house, there's still quite a bit to do.

It can be very theraputic. :)

7. boy that's got me thinking the lines of the song..."How's it gonna be
when you don't know me anymore?" That always gets me retrospective on past lives lived.

12. ...and if you are anything like me, you are amazed at how good you
looked, because you never thought you looked that good then. I should have enjoyed it while it lasted. I always do my best writing after I have looked at pictures such as you describe.

17. I'll be doing the same thing this weekend
after the blaze I needed to get rid of some damaged stuff, and while I was going through all my stuff, when i picked something up i'd give myself three seconds to think about if I needed it or not - if not - out it went

This will be repeated until i'm pared down to the bare essentials - which will make moving easier x(

18. I've been reading my way thru 24 yo love letters the past few days.
Strange that words can take one back to past emotions so easily.
