USA World Cup soccer!
I found out tonight, two weeks late, that we're in the World Cup. Can't wait to get up at 2am in the morning to watch the World Cup in 2006.

we had a good showing in Korea. if we can get as far as we did last time we will be in good shape.

2. We supposed to have an even stronger team this time around
Lots more guys with European club experience. Plus, some 6'6" defensive back who's been making a lot of waves. Looking forward to it.

3. Donovan was good last time around
It seems that the US has always fielded a really good defense, (Meola, Lalas etc) but the offense has always been found seriously wanting though. Until Donovan offerred us a glimmer of offensive hope last time. if we can get another really effective striker we'd be in business.

7. You mean Onyewu?
That's a big dude - quick too. He's going to be a good one. The team is shaping up nicely - I'd like to see one more center-back step up, and a right-sided midfielder to play opposite Beasley, but this team as it is should do well.

4. world cup! woo hoo!!!
i'd be thrilled to see senegal kick some more butt! ;-)

i remain partial to italy, however, and feel that they were sc*ewed last time around.

the US still does not take the beautiful game seriously. last world cup we had to swtich to mexican teevee stations to watch some of the important games. it was fun, tho! "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL !"

5. It's in Germany so the hours shouldn't be that weird.
Or do they play the games in the afternoon local time?

6. too bad Brazil
can almost beat a combined team from all the other nations...they have to be a steep favorite to win it all again

8. Am rooting for all the African countries that qualified,
since am African. Team USA has been playing very well and I am certain they will challenge the other teams well.
