Signs that you live on the US Gulf Coast |
|
This is from an email going around SE Texas (and probably parts east). I'm sure those who experienced Katrina and Rita will appreciate it more than the rest of you. :)
1. You can recite the provisions of your homeowner's policy from memory.
2. The road leading to your house has been designated a "no wake zone".
3. You've taken to referring to certain crumbling structures as "the building that used to be Dairy Queen" or "where A-1 Cleaners used to be".
4. You've actually seen (and hopefully killed) a mosquito the size of a dragonfly.
5. You can perform all necessary assembly and wiring of a generator by candlelight.
6. You not only know FEMA's number, you have it on speeddial- though even that doesn't help you get any assistance.
7. You've stopped thinking of 100 year old pine and oak trees as inanimate objects of beauty and have instead taking to calling them Menacing Killers of Roofs.
8. You have plywood for windows.
Have a good weekend y'all. :hi:
