Yuck!!!! Daniel Craig To Play James Bond
(New York -WABC, October 14 , 2005) - It's Craig, Daniel Craig as James Bond.

The new James Bond was chosen today. Lauren Glassberg joins us now with more. A Bond who is blonde, go figure.

Daniel Craig's an actor who you may not of heard of before. But some of the other names that were mentioned were Hugh Jackman, Colin Firth, and Clive Owen, all far more well known than Daniel Craig.

Well that will save me money since I won't be going to see 007 anymore.

3. Daniel Radcliffe would be the perfect teenage Bond!
Jackman would have been my first choice to replace Brosnan.

5. The only problem with Hugh Jackman is that his face is SO familiar...
he's been in so much other stuff, it would be hard for me to see him in a Bond movie as anything other than "Hugh Jackman playing James Bond." I want to see someone I can believe IS James Bond.

This Daniel Craig appears to be blonde. James Bond should never be blonde.

6. Just curious, did you have a problem with Pierce Brosnan?

7. No.
Of course, he was well known and had made a lot of movies, but he never seemed as *visible* to me as Hugh Jackman is. Maybe Hugh Jackman gets more press than Pierce Brosnan did.

8. You got me to thinking, because I did.
That was before I saw him in full Bond regalia. Oo'-la-laaa'! I fell for him hook line and sinker. Umm perhaps I should give Daniel Craig the benefit of a doubt.

9. Maybe.
But from the two pictures I've seen of him, I'm highly skeptical.

I suppose, though, that he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

10. He is so NOT Bond. Oh well, I'm with you. Saving money.
I'm still in the Sean Connery camp.

Of course, if he hadn't succombed to the lure of the Batmobile... I would have gone with:

11. Well, I happen to like Daniel Craig

He's a really fine actor, and so what if he's blond? They can dye his hair if it's such a big deal.
I liked Timothy Dalton, also. After Connery, I thought he was the perfect depiction of how Fleming would have visulaized Bond.

13. The movies are supposed to be less crap-comedy/gadgets, more wit...
I will give him one chance.

Like I had Brosnon.

Brosnon's era is, to date and by far, the worst era ever.

14. Man, I am so glad the dude ain't black!
I mean, think of all the anti-African-American responses we'd be getting... x( x( x(

In other words, don't judge by appearances.

Yeah, the dude is blond. Let's see how he plays the bloody role first! After all, they took TWO YEARS to narrow it down. Surely the guy's got something going for him even though God made him blond. :eyes: If it's the same old shit that brosnan pushed out, you bet I won't watch more than three minutes of it. But if it's as lofty and refined as Dalton's era was, you bet I'll be coming back each and every time!!!!!!

15. The actor playing Bond is of no consequence to me.
The real money should be spent on hiring a writer that won't churn out shit like "Die Another Day" or "The World Is Not Enough." I really hope whoever rakes in the money from Bond will attempt to make the franchise (and the character) relevant again. :(

16. Daniel Craig is so much hotter as a brunette.
He went dark to play Ted Hughes in Sylvia and was one of the most stunning looking men I have ever seen. I never thought hair color could make such a difference on a man, but I don't find him nearly as appealing as a blond.

He does have that manliness about him though, wheras I think Pierce Brosnan and Hugh Jackman are just a little too pretty-boy.
