ARRRGGGG! Major rant about people... |
|
So, I'm breaking the lease for my apartment. The apartment itself was great, but the management company sucks big time (that's another story).
So, I showed the apartment to two sets of people: (1) a nice couple and (2) a guy (who has a roommate, but roommate was not there).
The couple seemed to be the most interested in the place, whereas the other guy was concerned about lack of space. Our complex has a policy that one can apply only when a notice has been turned in. So, this morning I get an e-mail from the guy who told me that his roommate had found something else and was not interested anymore.
I faxed my notice at 2:20 this afternoon. In the notice, I indicated the name of the couple that I liked. I sent an e-mail to them saying I had put in the notice. Well, lo and behold, the other guy and his roommate were at the rental office this morning and submitted an application for any available apartment.
Turns out at that time there were no apartments available. So, the minute my notice was submitted, my apartment was available and these guys were now first on the list.
I then got a vicious e-mail from the couple, accusing me of having used them and gotten money from the other guy and blah blah blah. Of course, I did nothing of the sort.
I feel terrible but I should not be...
Just had to vent...

1. It's not your fault the guys filled out an app and not the couple. |
|
It's a first come first serve type of thing in any apartment complex. Don't feel bad, it's not your fault.

3. Can you send them the email the guy sent you |
|
saying he wasn't interested? Or is that a privacy issue...?

4. Yep, I don't think it would be kosher |
|
to share his e-mail without his knowledge on something like this. I'm getting to the point where I really don't care anymore, but I am normally a very nice person who likes to do things properly and I had no clue this was about to happen.

5. Well, you know that you did everything right, so it isn't your fault |
|
and it sucks that these people are blaming you, but ultimately that is their problem, not yours. They need to get over it.

10. Put 'em in your kill file! |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 03:51 PM by Rabrrrrrr
That's what I'd do, with an automatic response to every one of their emails saying "You are in my kill file now - your email was not delivered, and every email you send to me will receive this automatically generated email".
