so my company didn't pay me |
|
for my last week of work... no direct deposit today. No information on whether they're sending a paper check instead or holding it back for some other reason... No response to my email... Still haven't shipped my personal property back to me yet.
They are screwing with me because they can. God, I hate corporations.

2. When was your last day? |
|
What is the law in your state regarding the deadline for payment after an employee's last day? They CAN'T screw with you. There are laws to protect you. Check your state's labor department webpage or make a call to them. Do NOT give up your rights.

6. they sent me something - I just got it |
|
They fedexed the check but didn't tell me. I've been home all day = evidently nobody knocked. The letter was in front of my house.
I emailed for an explanation at 9am and got one at 5pm. I spent all the hours in between worrying.
Bad communication, as usual. I still have to sign a release for the rest of the pay if I want it, but I don't have the release yet, and even after I send it, they will hold it for 7 days.
I hate dealing with them and I want this all to be over.

7. It's unlikely they will sit on it as long as they can just to do that. |

My experiences - and I've had a lot of jobs, is that if you go into their office and ask for what you need to sign and sign while you are there, they will give it too you and send your document to the person who need to process it faster because they don't know what else to do with it. They may do it slowly just because they're a slow office, but not likely for the week of interest on it. Usually they want to wrap you up as much as you want to wrap them up.
If you start asking to speak to people in payroll and become impatient, even a little, it usually works in your favor. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. If you could only find out who to call, every day.

8. I am several thousand miles away from the company home office |
|
and have never spoken to or met any of the people involved in this so my only option is writing or calling. I prefer to write so I have a record. I don't trust them.
