The bottom pic is a lamp in the restaurant where we had lunch on Wednesday.....

I should have resized it.....it's way too big...but it's still a great pic...IMHO.....

The food was fabulous...but what caught my eye was this sculpture.....

It was hand made by someone who has a lot of ability....I think!

when the wind is blowing. Never could.

"Noticing the details" means finding a pattern or shape within a larger picture; for example the curve of a woman's waist, or the corner of a spiderweb, or a pattern of tideline pebbles on a beach...

Always look inside the larger picture of what you see, and you'll be amazed what you find.

The vitners are trying to increase the sugar level in the grapes by harvesting them later than normally...

The grapes pic was done with NV Whino's macro lens.....

Boy oh boy, those lenses are expensive......but they sure get the job done.......

Actually, the seascape was done on top of a very tall cliff....

And there were no stairs, or handrails or anything protecting one from falling arse over tip down the slope...... :scared:

photographer and i still enjoy viewing considered exposures :loveya: explain the last piece if you would, Peg. hubby has a process for hot soaked & steamed strips of bamboo over which is laid a sort of: rice paper mache. that pic looks to be a similar process, and was just curious :shrug:

I love to see things from places I've never been. Because of you I'm getting to see California. Thanks.

I have a free ticket to any European city as compensation for taking students on summer trips. I was thinking about someplace unusual to go; someplace off the tourist route.... Right now Iceland is running through my mind: active volcanoes, glaciers, horseback riding, hiking, etc. Everyone I know is trying to tell me I'm crazy. They think I should go to some "party place", but that part of my life is over. What do you think? Would you consider a place like Iceland?

Being from the deep south, I've always been fascinated with the extreme north. I've been north of the Arctic Circle in Norway, but that was back in 1978. I found it very interesting and I think that is why my mind is wandering to this area. Because the company I've been working with is European, I must choose a European city. What would interest you if you had a free ticket to Europe?

I myself would not think of going to Iceland....but that's ME.....

My husband and I love history....so we are still tending towards the big historical places, like London and Paris.....

If you haven't been to Paris...then GO!

I also loved Athens, which we saw this summer...But it's very hot there in the summertime......

But of course, Iceland has considerable history....so if your heart says go there, then go there!

History is my thing: I have a doctorate in the field.

The heat of Athens would not bother me as I have always been in hot places, that is indeed a distinct possibility.
Large cities, however, turn me off. I want to see nature, so I guess that is the appeal of Iceland to me.

I was giving much consideration to Ireland, but I was told it is becoming very expensive. I want to rent a bike and head out into the countryside. This is still my second choice.

May I show you some of coastal SC? The first is a photo of the beach where our second home is located and where I spend my summers. The other is just a postcard, but I thought it was pretty nonetheless. It is typical of where I go for long bike rides.
